Have you been to Jesus...

Posted by Mike Taylor on Sunday, February 21, 2016, In : Christianity Apostolic

Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you washed in the blood,
In the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Lay aside your garments that are stained with sin
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb.
There's a fountain flowing for the soul unclean.
O, be washed in the...

What a friend we have in Jesus...

Posted by Mike Taylor on Sunday, February 7, 2016, In : Christianity Apostolic

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear,
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

When we pray we are to believe God by Faith.

And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.
And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.
When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the...

"HOW TO PRAY FOR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST"

Posted by Mike Taylor on Sunday, January 24, 2016, In : Home Family Relations

Paul and Timothy had heard about the good things happening in Colossae and were inspired to write the church a letter. In their letter they explained how they were praying for the church. Their example shows us how we, too, should pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Specifically, it shows us how we should pray when we do not know of a specific need they have.

"For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with th...

"...and he will heal us..."

Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto...

"The Milestones of Consistent Prayer"

Posted by Mike Taylor on Sunday, January 3, 2016, In : Home Family Relations

A mother came to me in tears. "I have prayed until I don't know if I can pray anymore," she said. "My daughter has turned away from God, and it seems the more I pray, the more trouble she gets into, and the further away from God she goes. I have carried this load so many years!" She looked at me with sad, weary eyes and asked, "Do you think there is still any hope for her?" I did my best to assure this praying mother there is hope! We discussed Galatians 6:9: "And let us not be weary in well ...

Oh, I Want to See Him...

Posted by Mike Taylor on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, In : Christianity Apostolic

As I journey thro' the land, singing as I go,
Pointing souls to Calvary - to the crimson flow,
Many arrows pierce my soul from without, within;
But my Lord leads me on, thro' Him I must win.

O I want to see Him, look upon His face,
There to sing forever of His saving grace;
On the streets of glory let me lift my voice,
Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice.
When in service for my Lord dark may be the night,
But I'll cling more close to Him, He will give me light;
Satan's snares may vex my soul,...

And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these" Mark 12:29-31 KJV.

Let the distance shores rejoice
Clouds and thick darkness surround Him

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne
A fire goes before Him and consumes His foes on every side

Our Bible is always right.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

"...Bitterness will hinder and block our communion with God twice over...."

Posted by Mike Taylor on Sunday, November 1, 2015, In : Christianity Apostolic

Early morning is usually very quiet. No one else is up and about; there are no hindrances such as phone calls or people knocking at the door. Even our cell phone is silent.

But in all this absence of outside things, the thoughts of our heart are busy. It's times like this when the hidden things, buried deep within, rise to a reckoning. It seems easy to bring our wounds and hurtful issues before the Lord. Rehearsing the situation and circumstances allows us to ventilate and speak our grievances...

Survey Finds Most Americans, Religious or Not, Believe in a Creator

Posted by Mike Taylor on Sunday, October 11, 2015, In : General Information

You don’t have to believe in God or identify with any religion to see a creator’s hand in human life and morality, suggests a new survey.

LifeWay Research’s overall finding — that most Americans believe there is a creator who designed the universe and defines human morality — is not surprising. After all, 3 in 4 U.S. adults identify with a religious denomination.

The surprise is that so many people who don’t identify with a religion — so-called nones — agree.

"Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee" (Mark 5:19).

These are the words Jesus spoke to the man we recognize by the name Legion. He had been delivered of demons and later returned to Jesus, asking if he could stay with Him. Instead of granting the man's request, the Lord told him to go back home. Was He unfair? After all, the man only wanted to be with the One who had done so much for him. No. Jesus knew that the man...

Life this week: Faith is always good but a Religion is not enough.

To believe in God: Jesus is always good and most of us as Apostolic Christians are glad we do. But to have Faith in the Christian Bible is also good. However, that alone will often eventually result in a Religion such as a Christian Religious belief in God some refer to as associated with a denomination.

A Christian Religion is not what the Christian Bible tells me God sent his only son into this world for us to receive. God sent Christ to die for our sins so we will receive and have Salvation...

THE BLOOD COVENANT

Galatians 3:13-14, 29

Our confidence to approach God's throne in prayer over our finances is based on the blood covenant of Jesus Christ: not because we are good people and we mean well, nor because we have financial difficulties and we have needs!

God facilitates His purpose and will based on covenants that He makes with the human race, but most importantly His blood covenant with Israel, the bride of Jesus Christ (Read Galatians 3:13-14, 29). So, when we pray in Jesus' name we are directly ti...

Once upon a time, “equality” was the rallying cry of patriots and abolitionists—the good and true belief that “all men are created equal” in the sight of God, are equal in dignity and deserve equal rights before the law. But today, “equality” means something very different: It means sameness.

Because I want to see my Jesus someday

Goodbye world,
I stay no longer with you
Goodbye pleasures of sin,
I stay no longer with you
I've made up my mind to go
God's way the rest of my life
I've made up my mind to go
God's way the rest of my life

Born, born, born again Thank God,
I'm born again
Born, born, born again Thank...

"Open The Eyes Of My Heart"

Posted by Mike Taylor on Monday, May 11, 2015, In : General Information

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You

To see You high and lifted up
Shinin' in the light of Your glory
Pour out Your power and love
As we sing holy, holy, holy

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You

To see You high and...

Mothers Day and a Lady Expression

Posted by Mike Taylor on Sunday, May 10, 2015, In : Home Family Relations
“Usually adult males who are unable to make emotional connections with the women they choose to be intimate with are frozen in time, unable to allow themselves to love for fear that the loved one will abandon them. If the first woman they passionately loved, the mother, was not true to her bond of love, then how can they trust that their partner will be true to love. Often in their adult relationships these men act out again and again to test their partner's love. While the rejected adolesc...

"Why Should We Pray?"

Posted by Mike Taylor on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, In : Home Family Relations

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing". ~ Edmund Burke

In my opinion, for far too long, the church has taken a passive role when it comes to politics. I guess I have to be honest and forthcoming to tell you that I don't really believe it is possible to separate "church" and "state". You see the Bible says, "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all th...

The Gifts of the Holy Ghost come from and include...

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost
(From: Acts 2:38 King James Version, KJV).

AND
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.
And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit witha...

"Mothers Who Pray" by Darla Brochu

Posted by Mike Taylor on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, In : Home Family Relations
Some of my fondest memories are centered on hearing my mother pray after we children were in bed.  I would listen intently as she talked with God because I knew she would call my name. She would be asking the Lord to watch over me, to protect me from evil, and to draw me closer to Him. Once I heard my name, I could then go to sleep, content that all was well.

Growing up, we were taught to pray and to believe God for a miracle when we needed one. Every answered prayer was a miracle!

We are liv...

"Let God Arise"

Posted by Mike Taylor on Monday, April 27, 2015, In : Home Family Relations
Hear the holy roar of God resound
Watch the waters part before us now
Come and see what He has done for us
Tell the world of His great love
Our God is a God who saves
Our God is a God who saves

Let God arise
Let God arise
Our God reigns now and forever
He reigns now and forever

And His enemies will run for sure
The church will stand, she will endure
He holds the keys of life, our Lord
Death has no stake, no final word
Our God is a God who saves
Our God is a God who saves

Let God arise
Let God arise
Our God rei...

Sunday Blessings and...
Shew us thy mercy, O Lord, and grant us thy salvation.
I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
(From: Psalm 85:7-9 King James Version, KJV)

"...Thinks Christianity Has Become Too 'Feminized' "

" Former 'Real World' Star Thinks Christianity Has Become Too 'Feminized' "

Somehow, a recent Fox News discussion about the Islamic State's recruitment strategy veered into another equally urgent issue: the "feminized" church.

Rachel Campos-Duffy, best known for her stint on MTV's "The Real World: San Francisco," appeared on Tuesday's episode of Fox News’ “Outnumbered” to discuss the recent arrest of six people in Minneapolis and San Diego who were plotting to join the Islamic State.

Yet C...

"Will Drop in International Adoptions Lead to More In-Country Placements?"

Posted by Mike Taylor on Thursday, April 23, 2015, In : Home Family Relations
International adoptions plummeted to a 30-year low for U.S. citizens last year, with further declines expected. But some see the trend as an opportunity to help children remain in their home countries.

The U.S. State Department released its Annual Report on Intercountry Adoptions in March. Between October 2013 and September 2014, officials granted 6,441 immigrant visas to children adopted abroad, the lowest level since 1984. A tidal wave of international adoptions started in the late 1990s an...

North Dakota voters rejected a controversial measure yesterday that would have added an amendment to the state constitution prohibiting the government from putting a “burden [on] a person’s or religious organization’s religious liberty.” The amendment was defeated by approximately two-thirds, 64 percent to 36 percent.

Known as the Religious Liberty Restoration amendment, supporters of Measure 3 argued it would prevent attacks on religious freedom. The North Dakota Family Alliance, head...

"Flood-ravaged Colorado braces for more rain"

Posted by Mike Taylor on Monday, September 16, 2013, In : Home Family Relations
Coloradans have been praying for rain, but this past week’s weather is not what they were asking for, as last year’s “summer of fires” has suddenly turned into this year’s “summer of floods.”

In the past five days, parts of the state have received a year’s worth of rain. The deluge was supposed to take a break Saturday night, but the entire Front Range is under a flash flood warning—from the Wyoming border south 130 miles to Colorado Springs—until 6 p.m. Sunday, as more sto...

They said some interesting things about: “Child Care Choices: Au Pair, Daycare or Nanny?”

Posted by Mike Taylor on Sunday, September 8, 2013, In : Home Family Relations

…You knew you loved your child the moment you held her in your arms. Or maybe you knew when you first saw the double lines on the at-home prego test. Either way, your child has become your universe. You’ve had his puke, tears and poo on your finest clothes and barely batted an eye. You’ve rocked, soothed, shushed and cuddled until you could literally see the adoration oozing from your pores. Your conversations and Facebook updates are all about him. Yes, he’s become as important to yo...

"Education comes home in China"

Chinese parents concerned with structure in government schools are starting a new but fast-growing trend in Chinese education. About 2,000 Chinese parents now teach their children at home, according to a survey of about 18,000 parents who have expressed interest in homeschooling.

More than half of the homeschooling parents told the Education Research Institute, a Beijing-based NGO, they made the choice because of the teaching philosophy in Chinese public schools....

Passengers Scratch Their Heads at Small Checks Compensating for Big Mistakes

The anger travelers feel after a canceled flight can flare up all over again when the refund from the airline that arrives is only a fraction of the original ticket price.

United canceled Bill McCanne's connecting flight from Denver to Eagle County Airport near Vail, Colo.—the last leg of a $1,414 trip to Northern Ireland—because of crew problems. United offered Mr. McCanne and his wife Deb the choice of waiting 24...

Heavenly Father,
We thank You for our families.

We Pray:
Families
That You would help us to build godly homes where You are the center of everything we do.

That You help us to pray together to set godly goals that are according to Your will.

That families would reach out together as one unit being beacons of light in their communities.

Husbands/fathers
That husbands would readily take the leadership role in the home.

That they would build a family altar where the family prays together.

That husbands wo...
